At Opus 4 Marketing, the people behind the work are just as important as the projects themselves. In our first addition of Meet the Team, we’re spotlighting Sean, our talented Lead WordPress Developer. From perfecting website performance to experimenting with backend systems, Sean is the tech powerhouse keeping things running smoothly – and stylishly – across our clients’ sites.
Let’s dive into his world…
Q: What’s your role at Opus 4 Marketing, and what does a
typical day look like for you?
I’m the Lead WordPress Developer, so I’m responsible for looking after and
checking all of our sites. I solve a mix of problems – everything from bug
fixing and email issues to implementing new content. I also do a lot of design
work, especially on the frontend.
Q: What areas of marketing do you specialise in or enjoy
the most?
I specialise in full stack development – both frontend and backend. I love
building websites from start to finish, and seeing how all the moving parts
come together in a final product.
Q: Which recent campaign or project have you been most
proud to work on and why?
That would be the Glo Holiday Club website. It’s the first big project I’ve
worked on at Opus 4 and honestly, it feels like my baby! The site is lightning
fast, built with best-practice foundations, and is ready for future growth. I’m
really proud of it.
Q: What skills or tools do you use the most in your role?
ChatGPT is my go-to tool – it’s like my personal assistant! It helps me
troubleshoot, speeds up analysis, and is super useful for creating or updating
content.
Q: What’s something you think sets Opus 4 Marketing
apart?
We give our all, always. Every piece of work we deliver is 100%, no exceptions.
Q: How did you get into marketing? Was it something you
always wanted to do?
After sixth form, I initially joined the RAF, but soon realised it wasn’t the
right fit for me. I made the switch and went to university to study computer
science, where I discovered my passion for web development. From there, I also
got into SEO and started exploring game and app creation too.
Q: What was your background before joining Opus 4
Marketing?
A bit of a mix! I worked at Tesco, did some freelance work, and studied at
university before finding my place at Opus 4.
Q: If you could swap jobs with someone else at Opus 4 for
a day, who would it be and why?
I’d swap with Chris, because he develops backend systems from scratch and works
with PHP more than I do. I’d love to see what a day in his role is like!
